Alright, I've come to the conclusion that I can't overwhelm myself with eating well and exercising right now. I need to get into the habit of working out regularly again before I start in with my eating...I obsess and I don't have time to obsess about both!
Last week I was walking 3 miles every day for six days. Today is the beginning of a new week with a new goal in mind. I just got done with my first walk/run in a VERY long time and it felt GREAT! I went my same 3 mile route but walked 2 minutes/ran 3 minutes and I will do that every other day with a supplement workout on the off days. It feels good to have a goal nailed down and I can't wait to complete this week and mark off this goal.

Day 2 Week 1
Feeling good! I woke up this morning NOT in the mood to workout but with a little bit of coaxing from the ol' hubby (he just started with out me!) I was up and moving. We started off with Yoga-X...an hour and a half of stretching flexing and posing, oh the sweat was flowing! Then we headed out for our 3 mile walk...like I said, feeling good!
Yesterday I had planned on going for a second walk but didn't make it out. My eating yesterday was great and I hope to have the same success today, I even prepared yesterday for my lunch today. I cooked the rice and put together the ingredients for Corn, Rice and Black Bean Salad...should be good. Keep moving everyone!

I'm back!
Okay, so I am having some regrets about erasing my last fitness blog. My thought at the time was to 'start anew', well that's great but I realize now that it served as a journal for me to reflect on. Believe me this will NOT happen with this blog!
2010 is soon approaching and I feel the need to re-commit myself to a healthy lifestyle. In the next few days I will be pondering my reasons behind wanting to do this and post my 'mission statement' with regards to my lifestyle change.
I feel like I am starting from scratch again and it's a little frustrating to say the least, but I am up for the challenge and am considering putting together a 'support group'...I'll keep you posted on that one.
This morning I walked 3 miles and hope to get a casual walk in this evening. I have planned out my meals for the day and my goal is to take on one meal at a time...I can do this, I've done it in the past I can do it again and I look forward to seeing the results that I will work so hard for. I'm back.

Do what's best for me
It's been a long time since I've posted. Wow, I'm run/walking with a neighbor in the morning which is exactly what I need...someone to be accountable to and getting it done EARLY!
Yesterday I stepped onto the scale and had a scare that sent me into a healthy eating/workout spree...I know, I know, I need to make this a lifelong commitment not just something that comes and goes...I'm working on that. I just need to focus on how great I feel when I am on track and do what's best for me.

weigh in...starting from scratch
Last weigh in: 160.2 lb.
Monday: 163.4 lb.
Loss: + 3.2 lb.
Total weight loss: + 3.2
Okay, so you can probably tell why I have been reluctant to post my progress by my stats above, but I need to be honest about this journey...good or bad. As I have expressed in a recent post I really feel that my goal was made at the wrong time, but I am setting that goal again today and I will re-adjust my starting weight to the 163.4 lb. with this past Monday as my starting date, because lets be realistic this is where I'm starting from and yes I will be getting my hair done next month! I am very excited about next weeks weigh in because I can say that I am already seeing progress as long as my weekend doesn't totally blow me out of the water...I'll explain that at a later date. I am really excited because I am building muscle and seeing weight loss results, meaning that I am definitely loosing body fat...yay!!! Today I had a great workout, I did a 40 minute run and upper body weights. I know that I just did upper body the other day, but I'm trying to get on the same schedule as my husband so that we can train together...I'm so excited!!!

Motivation
Okay, so I've put on a couple of pounds since this picture was taken at 155 lb. I am starting to get back on track but I feel that I need to see what I've accomplished and know that I can do it again!! On my sidebar I have put up 2 photos of me, the one from 2007 is after I had Ethan (I know why would anyone post a picture of themselves like that...I'm hoping that it will help me to stay on track and hopefully be inspirational in some way). The other is a similar photo to this one, it was taken at the same time in 2008 after my half-marathon. February starts training for the Teton Dam Marathon...yay!!!

a new beginning
40 minutes on the treadmill, that's all I could get in today. So I have gained since my goal was set, I think that I set it at the wrong time of year, not much will power around my house during the holidays. I tried very hard not to make a lot of sweets and I did succeed at that, but our neighbors didn't have the same idea and boy were there treats yummy! 2009 is a new beginning, and for some reason I always get a great high off of not necessarily my own resolution to loose a few pounds, but knowing that so many others are on this same journey as me. Thanks to all of my friends and family who have inspired me this past year and pushed me even if it was just one step closer to my goal. I love you all and hope to inspire those around me and even those that are far from me as they have for me. Keep up the good work and keep in touch!

goal: get my hair done!
So it's interesting what a little incentive gets you. I have been falling off the bandwagon harder and harder each time, but each time I jump back on...eventually. I had a great friend come to visit me (I miss you Patty!!) and got me going again. I gave myself a goal to loose 4 lbs is 4 weeks, very do-able, also when I reach my goal I get to have my hair done (something that NEEDS to happen). I have been working out regularly and feel great. I did have one slip up and that was today when my husband requested that I make him some hot artichoke dip (let's just put it this way...not heart healthy!!!) and I went a little out of control, but I am past it and moving foreword! Wish me luck with these next few weeks.

Just what I needed
First off I had a fantastic elliptical workout for 30 minutes and an upper body strength session too...I feel great. More importantly, I was able to see my good friend and former (because I moved) workout companion. We went shopping for some necessities and went to lunch at Subway. I had so much fun with her and miss her company so much, hopefully we can plan another visit around Christmas. I love you girl!!!

sleeping through our session
Was unable to lift yesterday as my lifting companion slept through our session...you'd think he worked nights or something, wait he does. This morning I did a floor routine for abs. Keep moving foreword.

never a good sign
As you can tell, I haven't been blogging much...that is never a good sign. That means that I have been a slacker and have done next to nothing since my last post. Good news though. We have joined a family gym here in town and I am planning on going regularly, in fact the kids and I went swimming today so that has to count for something. Just keep moving forward.

a house of order
I will be posting my progress (weight) on the first Monday of each month, but will journal about it throughout the month. I can say that I just can't grasp hold of a motivation, I have been checking in on my dear friend Patty and her progress (which is amazing!!!) and I keep thinking that it will spark something. I have been eating horribly and not working out...at all! I have been struggling with finding my groove with my house. This morning I got busy and went to work doing an overhaul on the boys bathroom (the landlord hasn't grouted the bathroom and boys live here!!...eew) anyhow, I feel much better now that the bathroom is dripping in bleach. You may be wondering how this fits in with the mind, body, spirit theme of the blog, but this is a huge link for me to make the connection...if my house isn't in order the rest of my life isn't either. I think it's a psychological thing and one that really affects me.
