I've GOT to get a food journal! I keep 'jotting' things down on random papers and I need to keep them in one area. So far I feel like I'm on track, I woke up and did Kenpo X...well I did 20 minutes of Kenpo X, but I did go on my 3 mile walk while I talked on the phone with my mom (about a mile into the walk I was board!). Mom got me through the last two miles and it flew by.
My eating has been VERY good so far and I feel pretty proud of myself for not binging these past few days. Usually the first week is a struggle for me to make the change. I think I am more focused this time because I waited until I had the right mindset to jump back into this. I also think it helps that it hasn't been that long since I 'looked good'...and it won't be long until I do again! Last night I had a little room in my 'calorie budget' to make some 75 calorie cookies (actually the way I make them they are 37.5 calories, instead of a full tablespoon I only use a half tablespoon to dish them onto the cookie sheet. I need to be able to eat more than just one or two...I know it's only psychological) they are so tasty and fill the 'need'☺. I'll share the recipe when I have a bit more time. Eat well!

Day 3 Week 1
Double duty tomorrow...didn't get out on my walk but my eating was impeccable today. We tried a new recipe tonight for dinner, it's semi-vegetarian (meaning it has egg/dairy products) it was Black-Bean Lasagna and it was mm-mm good! I'll do better tomorrow.

Day 2 Week 1
Feeling good! I woke up this morning NOT in the mood to workout but with a little bit of coaxing from the ol' hubby (he just started with out me!) I was up and moving. We started off with Yoga-X...an hour and a half of stretching flexing and posing, oh the sweat was flowing! Then we headed out for our 3 mile walk...like I said, feeling good!
Yesterday I had planned on going for a second walk but didn't make it out. My eating yesterday was great and I hope to have the same success today, I even prepared yesterday for my lunch today. I cooked the rice and put together the ingredients for Corn, Rice and Black Bean Salad...should be good. Keep moving everyone!

I'm back!
Okay, so I am having some regrets about erasing my last fitness blog. My thought at the time was to 'start anew', well that's great but I realize now that it served as a journal for me to reflect on. Believe me this will NOT happen with this blog!
2010 is soon approaching and I feel the need to re-commit myself to a healthy lifestyle. In the next few days I will be pondering my reasons behind wanting to do this and post my 'mission statement' with regards to my lifestyle change.
I feel like I am starting from scratch again and it's a little frustrating to say the least, but I am up for the challenge and am considering putting together a 'support group'...I'll keep you posted on that one.
This morning I walked 3 miles and hope to get a casual walk in this evening. I have planned out my meals for the day and my goal is to take on one meal at a time...I can do this, I've done it in the past I can do it again and I look forward to seeing the results that I will work so hard for. I'm back.

In the heat of the day
Yesterday I had planned on running early in the morning with a friend but some things got in the way of that and I wasn't able to go. Instead I had the grand idea to run at 10:15 a.m. (the only time that was available to me), well yesterday it was above 100-degrees outside and while it wasn't that hot when I started running it was still VERY hot for running!! I came home drenched after only a 30 minute run, but if felt good to get it done. Today I may head over to the rec center to run or wait until this evening, I'll post again today after I have accomplished that goal. Happy healthy living!!

Do what's best for me
It's been a long time since I've posted. Wow, I'm run/walking with a neighbor in the morning which is exactly what I need...someone to be accountable to and getting it done EARLY!
Yesterday I stepped onto the scale and had a scare that sent me into a healthy eating/workout spree...I know, I know, I need to make this a lifelong commitment not just something that comes and goes...I'm working on that. I just need to focus on how great I feel when I am on track and do what's best for me.

June 17th
Wow, February 10th was my last entry. I have done some very inconsistent working out since then, but hope that I can get back up and get with it. This morning I went on a run and I feel fantastic! It was a light run but a run none the less, I have found a friend interested in running and hope that we can stick with this. Wish us luck!

Saturday
Saturday was a beautiful day so I ran hills for 2 miles and it felt so good to push myself. Today I plan on running my 30 minutes on the indoor track because it's snowing outside...yuck!!

Last minute run
So I had no intentions of running today...well I shouldn't say no intentions, but I quickly decided not to once my day got started. Cindy inspired me to do my running as I was chatting with her she said that she needed to get going so that she could get her run in...I guess I did too. Thanks Cindy!! 30 min. run!

thanks for shoveling
I just want to thank everyone in the neighborhood who shovels their sidewalks...it makes running in the snow so much easier! I ran 30 minutes.

building muscle burns more fat...it's that simple!!!
If you are a yo-yo dieter or just don't get the calories into your body to keep you going throughout the day click HERE for an interesting article. It is often tempting to starve yourself to loose a few pounds, but in the end the only thing you loose is energy and muscle...fuel your workouts and build muscle to burn more fat!

Weigh in
Last week: 163.4 lb.
Monday: 162.4 lb.
Week 1 loss: 1 lb.
Total weight loss: 1
I went on vacation this past weekend, and my eating got a little out of hand, but life moves foreword. After I started working out last week, I really hit the weights pretty hard...it felt good, but I noticed a huge jump on the scale, luckily it has slowly decreased. More muscle burns more fat and slow is better than fast in my book!

weigh in...starting from scratch
Last weigh in: 160.2 lb.
Monday: 163.4 lb.
Loss: + 3.2 lb.
Total weight loss: + 3.2
Okay, so you can probably tell why I have been reluctant to post my progress by my stats above, but I need to be honest about this journey...good or bad. As I have expressed in a recent post I really feel that my goal was made at the wrong time, but I am setting that goal again today and I will re-adjust my starting weight to the 163.4 lb. with this past Monday as my starting date, because lets be realistic this is where I'm starting from and yes I will be getting my hair done next month! I am very excited about next weeks weigh in because I can say that I am already seeing progress as long as my weekend doesn't totally blow me out of the water...I'll explain that at a later date. I am really excited because I am building muscle and seeing weight loss results, meaning that I am definitely loosing body fat...yay!!! Today I had a great workout, I did a 40 minute run and upper body weights. I know that I just did upper body the other day, but I'm trying to get on the same schedule as my husband so that we can train together...I'm so excited!!!
Click HERE to see healthy recipes on my recipe blog and check back in later...I'll post more as I come across good ones!

Time Crunch
I only got 10 minutes of running in this morning and I can't see another break in my schedule today to add to that. I guess 10 minutes is better than nothing.

feeling great!
First of all can I just say that I love my husband, he's the best support anyone could ask for. Today he and I went to the gym together, we were unable to workout together because his focus was lower body while I was on upper body. I had a very intense upper body workout with a 30 minute cardio session. I feel great!!!

Motivation
Okay, so I've put on a couple of pounds since this picture was taken at 155 lb. I am starting to get back on track but I feel that I need to see what I've accomplished and know that I can do it again!! On my sidebar I have put up 2 photos of me, the one from 2007 is after I had Ethan (I know why would anyone post a picture of themselves like that...I'm hoping that it will help me to stay on track and hopefully be inspirational in some way). The other is a similar photo to this one, it was taken at the same time in 2008 after my half-marathon. February starts training for the Teton Dam Marathon...yay!!!

t.v. is good for something
This morning I went to the gym and climbed onto the elliptical planning on about 40 minutes...well that 40 minutes turned into 65 because of t.v., see we don't have t.v. at our house and we LOVE that decision! Sure we're out of the loop when our friends start in on their favorite series that they watch religiously, but that's okay with us. Anyway the ellipticals at the gym have t.v. screens and you can flip through and watch what you wish, I was glued to it and kept pushing 5 more minutes on my workout time not realizing how long I had been on, I guess t.v. is good for something!!!
